About Suzuki Stars Music Academy
“When love is deep, much can be accomplished.”
“Anything you think of doing, however insignificant, should be done immediately. Spur yourself on and carry it through without becoming discouraged. If this becomes an ingrained habit, things you thought were impossible will become possible, and closed doors will open, as you will discover in many ways.”
-Shinichi Suzuki
The Suzuki Stars Music Academy opened its doors September 1st, 2014 which was founded by Director Blaise Poth and has been growing ever since. This academy strives to provide quality music instruction for the greater Louisville area in a nurturing environment which is an essential part of learning to play a musical instrument. Our students are provided regular solo and group performance opportunities in a supportive and fun environment at both the academy and outreach locations. The Suzuki Stars Music Academy offers Suzuki classes, classical traditional instruction and unique music classes. Our curriculum is designed to prepare babies (from birth to age three) to build on the child’s natural delight in learning. This lays the foundation for musical skills which can carry into instrumental music beginning at age 3 and above. Both children and adults are welcomed to begin studying a musical instrument at our academy.
About The Suzuki Method
“Every child is talented. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited.”
-Shinichi Suzuki
More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized that children the world over learn to speak their native language with ease through repetition, listening and imitation. He began to apply these basic principles into the learning of music, and called his method the mother‐tongue approach. With an early beginning, parental involvement and lots of positive encouragement, every child can learn to play and enjoy music.
